TEAMORIGIN's Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson secure second spot at the Bacardi Cup Star Class Regatta after narrowly losing out on first after a tie-breaker to Portugal's Afonso Domingos and Bernardo Santos.

More than 110 teams representing 26 countries competed in the 81st Bacardi Cup Star Class Regatta, one of the most competitive Star Class events in the world and a good benchmark on the path towards the Olympics later this year.

Percy and Simpson were leading the regatta entering the last day of racing but by the end of the it they were tied in first place with Domingos and Santos scored two second places to Percy and Simpson's fifth and ninth. This mean't they were level of points overall for the regatta but race rules meant the finish in the last race was used to decide the winner.

Second place is still very much a strong achievement given the TEAMORIGIN pair had only just taken delivery of their new boat and has some performance modifications to come.
