Rodrigo was literally born into a career in the marine industry as the son of an Argentinian naval officer and submarine commander. It was not long before his love affair and fascination with water sports began and his career has now progressed quickly to a point at which he is one of the most revered experts in his field in the world.
After graduating from the University of Buenos Aires in marine engineering and naval architecture, he moved to Germany with his parents where he furthered his studies of ship hydrodynamics and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and was conferred the title ‘Doktor-Ingenieur’.
From here he worked as a consultant for the German Navy, before joining the world of yacht racing in 2003. To date he has worked for a number of high profile projects including the world-beating ABN Amro team in the 2006 Volvo Ocean Race and the most recent America’s Cup campaign with BMW Oracle.
