| NICK BICE |

|
Year of Birth:1978
Nationality: Australian
Role: Boat Captain
Nick, 29, will shoulder a huge responsibility as boat captain in ensuring the boat is fully prepared to go to sea at the start of each day and all aspects are maintained to a high standard. His blend of boat building and sailing experience will serve him well in this tough task and few doubt his ability to help TEAMORIGIN compete at the highest level.
A lifelong sailor, Nick learnt from the best while working for Blue Sky Composites in Australia and now has an extensive understanding of carbon fibre and structural engineering. In 2000 he signed up to Young Australia, an America’s Cup challenger, as a trimmer and from here has gone from strength to strength. Involved in the 2002 Volvo Ocean Race with Team Amer Sports he went on to join the ABN Amro team for the 2006 competition, after starting as shore captain he was called up to sail on ABN Amro Two and completed his first circumnavigation.
Nicknamed Bicey, this Australian will bring an extra competitive streak to the predominantly British team. No stranger to winning in various regattas across the globe including the Sydney-Hobart race, he will be hoping to continue his success with TEAMORIGIN.

Why you joined TEAMORIGIN:
“After hearing about TEAMORIGIN and then talking to Mike Sanderson, it was clear that this is a team that is determined to win and is prepared to put in the necessary groundwork. After much speculation I am very excited about the prospects of beginning training and I firmly believe we can beat the best.”
