| TEAMORIGIN's fleet of J80's hit the water |
| Wednesday, 10 October 2007 |
In conditions more befitting a Summers day than early October, with warm temperatures and light winds, the TEAMORIGIN fleet of J80's kicked off our Corporate Sailing Programme on the 3rd & 4th October.
Teams mustered at the Royal Southern Yacht Club on Saturday morning joined by sailors from TEAMORIGIN including David 'Freddie' Carr, Chris Brittle, Rob Greenhalgh & Ian Weighell. The race committee comprised the Royal Southern Yacht Clubs Race Officers and TEAMORIGIN's very own Andy Green who made no bones about the competitiveness of the racing that guests could expect in the day ahead.
Up to four races Fleet races were the order of the morning with short courses and a light shifting breeze, lead changes, incident and (mild) controversy kept the teams excited and results close. After a spot of lunch on board match racing was the order of the afternoon and the opportunity to experience the America's Cup finals experience itself. The fleet racing allowed teams to brush up on their boat handling and rules which ensured the match racing was of highest quality, starts were close and racing was tight, resulting in lead changes and on one occasion a photo finish!
At the end of the day there had to be winners and losers but judging by the stories all went away having had a fantastic experience.
Our fleet of four J80’s are available for our partners to use as part of our sponsorship packages. For more information on sponsorship opportunities at TEAMORIGIN please contact us at: sponsorship@teamorigin.com
