Year of Birth:1973
Nationality: French
Role: Mastman

Still only 34, Julien has a vast amount of sailing experience behind him and can still look forward to many more fruitful years in short course and ocean racing. As with many professional sailors, yachting is in his blood line and Julien developed his passion for the sport whilst sailing with his parents as a child.

His first major success came onboard the British owned Mari-Cha III when they broke the Atlantic record for a monohull, taking less than 10 days. Since then he has mixed Ocean Racing with the America’s Cup and reached the top of his game in both. A commendable second in The Race alongside Loick Peyron was followed by the double-handed Transat Jacques-Varbe in 2003.

His campaign for TEAMORIGIN will be the 4th time he has been with an America’s Team. After two hard fought challenges with the French team he joined BMW Oracle for the most recent event. Now with the British team he will bring a lot of experience and knowledge and will help TEAMORIGIN on their way to America’s Cup victory.

Past America’s Cup Experience

Why you joined TEAMORIGIN:

“I wanted to join a team with the potential to win the AC, which is the goal for TEAMORIGIN and joining a new team is very exciting because you can bring a personal touch. I also believe that Mike is the right guy to achieve the task of putting together a winning team.”
